Apple ID Scam

Hello,

My iPhone 11 pro was recently stolen. I locked the device through Find My iPhone and today received a message saying that it was located. The message was obviously fake and not from Apple and I changed my Apple ID password. Could anyone advise me on what further steps I should take to possibly help find my device.

Stolen iPhone phishing Hi, My iPhone was stolen a couple of days ago and I received a text today from ‘apple’ stating that it had been found with findmyiphone. I stupidly followed the link and entered my details and a few minutes later, the device was removed from findmyiphone. I realised quickly that I was phished and changed my Apple ID password. I have 2 questions I would really appreciate some guidance on: 1) By falling for the phishing attempt, is there any way the thief can gain access to the device itself? I have a lot of sensitive information stored on the phone so this is my main concern. FYI, the phone was protected with a 6 digit passcode and fingerprint ID 2) despite the phone not showing up in find my iPhone, it’s still listed as one of my devices on iCloud.com. The Apple Pay cards still show “pending erase”. Does this mean the phone is still activation locked? Thanks in advance for any insight you can give me.

Is this a scam? i have been robbed in Antwerp and went to the police station and did not expect i will hear back from it. but Tobey i got a phone call from the US but i had been working. so i did not take a call. then i got an I-message **** that found my iPhone 12 with a link to verify my location. then they said they found my iPhone XS then i feel it a bit weird with link ****** my question is, is this real or scammer? what shold i do? because with this link i can not access with my password. and there is any chance i will get my phone back ? and can they use or reset my phone and be able to use it without my consent? looking forward to hearing fr you . This is a scam. Apple will never send you an SMS message regarding a lost or stolen device.

It is likely the person that has found your phone has decided to text you in order to gain your iCloud credentials.

Does the device location show in Find My Phone? If not, all you can do is manually search for the phone.
