Safari keeps asking me if I wish to open a URL in a completely irrelevant app.

“Do want to open this in Wordpress/ YouTube/ Pages etc. ?”

How do I stop this, please? It’s an absurd waste of time. It happens on both my iPads and my iPhone.

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like Safari is suggesting to open certain elements or links in other apps. We’ll be happy to provide some info on this.


It doesn’t look like there is a way to remove these options. When you see these appear, you can tap Cancel and it should open the link within Safari. For instance, if it ask if you want to open a video in YouTube, you can click Cancel and the video should still play directly in Safari. If you like, you can leave feedback about this using the following link. It’s a great place to leave suggestions and ideas you’d like to see in updates:
