Itunes on PC: Music AND Library all in Dropbox and synced - but what if I add a Mac?

I've had my iTunes library and all my music in Dropbox for years now, so not only is it all backed up, I can open iTunes on any PC and connect to the iTunes library in the cloud. Works perfectly (as long as you don't open iTunes on more than 1 PC at a time!).

I'm getting a Mac and I'm pretty sure the file structure won't be the same for the library - does anyone know? Will I be able to use the Apple Music app on the Mac and open the same iTunes library from Dropbox? I'm guessing not...

If not, what would be the answer - should I subscribe to iTunes match to get to the library on my Mac?

Looking forward to finding out! thanks.

See What happened to iTunes? - Apple Support. Any new Mac will be using the Music & TV apps rather than iTunes so your iTunes for Windows library won't work there. iTunes Match or Apple Music would let you use the same music content in the cloud.
