External Protection for MacBook Air

Is it okay to put a hard cover case (with ventilation vents) on the outside of the MacBook? And a silicon case on the keyboard? I also put a thin screen protector to avoid scratches, is that fine as well? By using these protection items would there be any damage to my device that I should be aware of?
