Here's my scenario - like everyone else, I'm spending a lot more time working at home. I have an iMac Late 2015. My work laptop is Windows 10. It has a 13" screen so I'd really like to use the iMac as an external display for the PC. How??????

That won’t work.
Target Display Mode was never supported on the Retina iMac.

You might be able to install and boot Windows 10 on the iMac, though.

Sorry, my friend. That setup is not now and never was an Apple supported configuration.
The iMac is a computer. It was not designed to be a monitor for another computer.
You should simply purchase an inexpensive monitor for your pc.
I have an HP monitor but it's too small and my iMac has far more real estate for the work I need to do. Apple told me that I needed to connect both devices Asian a USB to USM cable, no? I have to purchase one if it will work...??
This iMac can run Windows 10, natively. Install Windows 10 and boot that, and do your Windows thing on a big screen. Shuffle files back and forth to the laptop as needed, if you need to transport those files remotely. Or use a file share on Windows. Fully native Windows.
And the issue with the iMac here is that yours is just a little too new to be used as a display. Older iMac models can work for this. The previously-linked blue-text link provides more info on Target Display Mode for iMac. But again, yours is too new.
I'm sorry, my friend. The iMac just wasn't designed for that purpose and the macOS does not support it, either.
I'm sure you could find a 22" or larger widescreen monitor for a comfortable price. Google it. That would be a lot easier than trying to make this iMac do something it wasn't made to do.

Sorry, it will just not work. iMac is a computer, not a display for other devices.

macOS Bootcamp is for installing Windows on a Mac.
