Cannot Redeem 3 Months Free Apple Arcade

I just bought a MacBook Pro and got an email that I get 3 free months of Apple Arcade. I went to the App Store and clicked on arcade and clicked on the 3 month free tab. I input my Apple ID and password and it thinks for a minute and then comes back with a screen that says I have to sign in with my Apple ID and has a "cancel" or a "buy" option on the bottom of that screen. Why?

"How to redeem your offer" to follow the steps to get your 3 Months free.:


(Seems you will need to sign into your Apple ID on your MacBook Pro

before going to the App Store.)


Tip:

Seems you need to cancel your subscription to any free trial

... at least 24 hours before the free trial expires,

if you don't want to be charged for the following month.

And

If you cancel early, seems you immediately lose the access to the app.


How to cancel a subscription from Apple:

(Scroll down to the Mac info.)

Wondering:

Does your MacBook Pro have the latest software upgrade (Big Sur 11.5.2)


Has too much time elapsed since your purchase date ?

(Offer is good for 3 months after eligible device activation.)


Or

Seems you may need to contact Apple for answers.

Opening it from the email opens the app store and takes me to a page offering me 1 month of free arcade instead of 3. If I click to redeem it then I run into the same issue as above. Clicking "Buy" results in that pop-up disappearing and reappearing in an endless loop. I've confirmed that my Mac is signed into my Apple ID and when I first clicked the "Try It Free" button I entered my Apple ID and password in a pop-up that then led to the never-ending loop of the pop-up you can see in the screenshot below.
