Mac Mini 2010 - Powers On, No signal to External Monitor via HDMI

Updated my internal storage HD to an SSD, now when I power on, I hear the Mac power on, but my external screen does not receive a signal.......Mac Mini 2010

I have tested the HDMI cable and input on external monitor, all good there!

The SSD can be formatted while it is in the Mac Mini.

But to do that, you need to startup from the original install disc 1 that came with that Mac Mini, a Retail Snow Leopard Upgrade DVD if your SuperDrive is working or better yet the old HDD externally if it was still working.

Then after you install macOS you can Restore from the old HDD or Migrate from your Time Machine backup.

Of corse everything from this point on, hinges on having a working display.

Hmm... Only thing I can think of, is that something was damaged or came loose when you swapped drives.

Did you format and install macOS on the SSD before installing it into the Mac Mini? If not, then you need to startup from the original Install Disc that came with that Mac Mini or the internal Hard Drive in an external enclosure, so that you can format and install macOS on the SSD.

Also keep in mind that the 2010 Mac Mini's has a Mini DisplayPort, that can be used for display output.

I did not format/install ios on the SSD, to be honest, I didn't know you had to do that. I thought I could just use a time machine to get it up and running. I'm a rookie lol.

Looks like I'll need to dig that SSD back out and format and install on the SSD, forgot about he mini display port, I'll try that too!

Thank you!
