Broken iPhone 4

Hello all,

I recently acquired an iPhone 4, but it doesn't turn on. It is stuck in recovery mode. When I restart i, it boots back into recovery, and a restore fails with error code 9. I think the drive may have gotten corrupt. Is there anything I can do?

cant turn my new iphone on so i recently purchased an iphone 7 and upon unboxing and trying to booth the phone, my excitement was quenched when i realized it wouldn't turn on . i read online how it could be a software problem and the article suggested i tried restoring the software with iTunes. so i went ahead and tried that as well. i was able to get the phone into recovery mode but every time, during the process of restoration, i would see an error message indicating the phone could not be updated or restored. the error code is 4005. can someone please help me out or do i have to return the phone

My iPhone 11 is stuck in recover mode. First I tried to update it through iTunes, and didn’t work. During my second attempt I tried to Restore my iPhone and it showed a message saying “unknown error occurred.” My iPhone 11 was stuck in a boot loop, and now it is stuck in recovery mode. I tried everything I could to restart it. I also think my battery is defective because the acidic smell is slowly getting stronger

Recycle it responsibly, that is a hardware failure error.

I agree with deggie. Recycle it. Even if you got it working, it's so old, so out of date, no longer supported, and most modern apps won't even run on such an old device.

Ok. I was looking to use it as a bluetooth enabled iPod, but if it's hardware failure, I guess I'll recycle it.
