Internet connectivity issues due to Norton software

I had been using Norton antivirus, VPN and security software which would not update properly, so after looking on the Norton site which said I needed to uninstall my Norton software and reinstall, the action of this meant that I now cannot use the internet unless I am in safe mode. The issue I have is that in safe mode I obviously cannot download the Norton software again which is apparently required to be able to use the internet again when not in safe mode.

Has anyone got any recommendations as to how I can resolve this issue?

Thanks.

My recommendation is to ignore Norton completely. Posts here going back 20 years show it and all other third-party "security/cleaning/protection" apps have caused more Mac issues than they fixed. Please do not fall victim to "fear" marketing. You own a Mac...do not treat it like the "other kind" of computer.

The macOS is a very robust operating system. Throwing unneeded third-party "solutions"in the mix only slows and destabilizes your computer.

The only useful utility is MalwareBytes that detects and blocks adware. If you compute prudently, do not use torrents or visit download hosting sites, then you don't even need MalwareBytes. I've run Macs exclusively since 21990 in several different environments and never "caught" anything.
