iPad Page Turn using Bluetooth camera remote

Hi!

I have been looking for a way to turn the pages on books that I read on my iPad without having to use my hands to swipe/tap the page.

I read a forum that you could set up an external Bluetooth device that has a click function (like a Bluetooth camera button) to turn the page.

Using Accessibility > Switch Control

Ive been able to connect to the Bluetooth device I bought but when I go to set this device up as a switch, in Switch Controls > Switches > Add New Switch > External - all I get is a message saying to turn the device on. Even though the iPad is already connect.

In the same place as “Add switch” it does say “Bluetooth devices” and when I click there, it shows the external device im using and says connected but still registers no switches.

Anyone know what I can? Or would you say the external device I have is not compatible for what I’m trying to achieve?

Any other suggestions for page turning without using hands welcome too!

Thanks

Hi _acotar,

We are happy to help with the issue you are having with looking for an option to turn pages hands free. There may be other options in accessibility that can help with this. Take a look at Get started with accessibility features on iPhone. You might see options in Use Voice Control to interact with iPhone. You might see an available commands or be able to create a new commands in "Customize Commands".
