Can’t change password

iforgot.apple.com not sending text or message after 2 week wait. How can I change my password. I have been trying to change the password for several months. I called support and the girl said it’s totally automated and there is nothing that can be done if the system don’t send the instructions. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she said she doesn’t have a boss and there is no one that can help. I highly doubt if Tim Cook needed to change his password they would tell him that.

Hello again ~I am sorry that you are having this issue …sounds frustrating for sure. Let me get one thing straight is your new iPhone the one that text is supposed to go to? You can escalate your issue by asking to speak to a manager … that I do know. I think the issue has something to do with your new iPhone and trusted devices complicated by the waiting period…as usually this IS automated and quite efficient. Call back …be very polite and ask to escalate your issue. Will you post back when you have some additional info?Take care:)

No, the new phone has a new number. I am paying for two lines now because I can’t lose my email.


I am using the old phone to try and reset the password since it has the number that Apple knows but email account I am trying to reset is not the Apple ID that is logged into the phone. This account is setup as a second email account.


I noticed when I logged in here to the forum I used the Apple ID that is logged into the phone yet it shows the username as the Apple ID I am trying to change.


I would be will go to the Apple store and show my passport and pay to have it reset but this is the one time in history Apple doesn’t want my money.


I did ask to speak to a manager and the girl said she doesn’t have a manager and even if she did, she was as high a level as Apple would allow me to speak too.

Both phone are using the same Apple ID but have different phone numbers. Both phones are trusted devices. In face both phone show the other phone as a trusted device along with my Apple Watch. But my old Apple ID (the one I forgot the password is the one I use for my emails is not that Apple ID. The phone has the password stored, that is why I am still able to use that email account.
