Please read https://www.apple.com/apple-tv-app/ and within there you will find links to all the devices that support the Apple TV app. Your TV may even be one of them.

Perhaps the easiest and best experience is to get an Apple TV 4K device ( https://www.apple.com/apple-tv-4k/ ) and connect it to your TV, assuming your TV has HDMI inputs.

However, what I think you are really referring to is Apple TV + which is Apple's own propriatary content. You will need a device that supports the Apple TV app as noted above as Apple TV + runs within the Apple TV App.
