I recently bought an iPhone online and it has activation lock I have no way in contact of the seller and I was wondering if I can get the activation lock if I have the serial number if needed
How would I go about doing this.

There is nothing you can do. You either need the original owner to remove activation lock, or you need the original Apple or Apple authorized seller receipt to get Apple to remove it.
