Printing issue

Hi, I am unable to scan from my HP Officejet Pro 8600 using system preferences since the last update to 11.5.2 macOS Big Sur. I keep getting a message that says: This operation couldn't be completed. (com.apple.imagecapture error 4294957375.) (-9921). Anyone have any ideas on why and how to fix. I used to have no problem now I have to use the HP Smart app to make it work.

Nothing else? Word/Pages documents, PDF files, etc.? Just emails from the Mail app?


EDIT: I just checked with HP Support and the most current printer driver on their site is dated: 11/12/2020. With the number of macOS Big Sur updates, this driver could be "out-of-date," and potentially why you are having this issue.
