Mojave installation on MacbookPro

I have a Macbook pro and I want to install the latest OS X I can - Mojave.

I followed the instructions on Apple’s website, checked that the disc I wanted to install it on had the correct format and enough space

There was the ubiquitous error message after not too long saying '......try again'. I tried from and to various disks both on my mac and externally but always with the same result, I checked the long lists about this issue on-line but feel its better to post here as I don’t want reams of info to do this and that which may or may not work and I don’t feel should be necessary.

I have tried plenty of the basic solutions and I’ll just give up if I can’t get anymore
