how can i add multiple instruments playing at one time in garageband

hello, i am using garageband on my MacBook, but i cannot figure out how to use multiple instruments at once, i clicked hip hop, and it already has "Trap door (dez)" and a bunch of other pianos and a string ensemble, but i only trap door (dez) is playing, and i don't know how to get the others to play
