Cannot connect to my Epson scanner since updating to 11.5.2

I have recently updated my MacBook Pro to 11.5.2 and now cannot use the scanner on my Epson DX8400. It says I do not have permission. When a scanner window popped up it had a CX830 showing that I do not own. What is going on and how can I get it working again? I've downloaded the latest Epson driver but this didn't work either.

You may have downloaded the latest software from Epson, but that does not ensure that it is compatible with your computer's operating system. It is first necessary to confirm that the software will work with your OS. If the is not yet available, ask Epson when it will be released. A very good alternative is to try the app VueScan. It is a full featured scanner software which is very well supported. You can try it for free (it will print a watermark) to see if you like it. There is a fee to purchase it. I bought it and I can recommend it. I have no association with VueScan.
