Apple Watch series 1 won't update with iPhone X

I got an apple watch series 1 and I am trying to pair it with my iPhone X, but when the are paired, it says that the watch needs an update when I introduce my password it says "install now" I introduce my password again but nothing happens.

Is there something I can do?

My new Apple Watch SE won’t complete setup because it says it need an update but won’t complete the update, just unpairs and goes back to the pairing screen for setup. I am trying to setup my new Apple Watch but it starts the process, says I need to update the watch but when I press the update now button, it tries to connect then unpairs and goes back to the setup screen. My phone is up to date, the watch is on the charger next to the phone, wifi is on, and I have restarted both devices several times. Now what?

Does it have a 50% or better charge and do you have it on the charger when you are installing?
