iPad mini 5 battery draining too fast while gaming?

I tested battery by playing Asphalt 9. I played for just over 1 hour (hour and 5 mins) with 60% screen brightness and lost 29% of battery, is it normal or is it draining too fast? I couldnt tell cuz i have no reference video or something to compare

Many computer games are CPU intensive - and high screen brightness (60% is considered high) a high frame rates will only worsen battery utilisation. If your battery utilisation is normal when using your iPad for less intensive tasks, such as internet browsing, then the source of your problem is almost certainly the Game App that you are using.

You might be well advised to connect your Power Adapter during gameplay - as doing so will extend the time that you can play without having to worry about your battery. Instead of your Power Adapter, you might also consider use of a PowerBank battery.

Depending upon the chemical-age of your battery, +90% battery health may simply be an indication that your battery is entirely normal - its maximum battery capacity reducing as expected through use.

If you are concerned, you might be well advised to seek assistance from Apple Support - or from the technicians at the Genius Bar of your local Apple Store. Both have the capability to test your iPad battery.

You can directly contact Apple Support using the Get Support link at top-right of this page - and request a remote battery diagnostic. You can also make an appointment with your Genius Bar using this link:

Depending upon the condition of your iPad battery, battery utilisation of 10% per hour is a reasonable expectation (this equates to 1% for 6 minutes of run-time).

Batteries are a consumable item - and their capacity will gradually reduce throughout their usable lifetime. Apple quote iPad batteries as retaining 80% of their original capacity after 1000 full recharge cycles - every “cycle” reducing the maximum capacity by a tiny amount.

As described, your iPad battery appears to be operating as anticipated.

I think My battery utilization varies: sometimes it ‘seems’ lo last longer when doing something compared to other time when i do same thing. But when i test battery while reading book it always stays same: I read with wifi on and 30-40% brightness. It drains by 1% in every 7 minutes and this is always the same. So is it normal to lose 1% in 7 mins in such conditions?
