iMovie

Hi, I'm having trouble with iMovie 10.2.5. I have put together a video and wanted to add in a song I liked. I added this in and trimmed it down but listening back to it, in places it echoes a bit like the sound you hear when someone leaves their microphone and audio on loud. The track was originally M4A but I have converted it to MP3 - unfortunately no luck and the echo is still their. I have checked and it isn't on the original track. The track has no enhancement on whatsoever in iMovie. I have attempted reducing background noise too but this does not help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Try deleting preferences to see if that will cure the problem. To delete preferences open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and select to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects.  Deleting preferences is a safe procedure that will not cause data loss or disruption to your project.

If deleting preferences doesn't work, then try creating a new project and see if your audio works properly there.

All else failing, try converting the audio clip to AAC that iMovie likes.
