Files are taking forever to upload to iCloud.

I have noticed the last couple of weeks when I move or download a file into iCloud on my iPhone is tales upwards a day to get to the cloud and be available for my other connected computers etc.

It will sit in a folder under iCloud with an arrow going up and it will not show in the cloud until the arrow goes away. Like I said I have seen it take a day before I can see it on my Mac.

like I said this just started and not Sur why. Anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it.

The files can ad as little as a one page PDF file of 20 kB.

Beach City Ed,

We can understand wanting the files and photos to upload to iCloud more quickly. The time it takes to back up your information to iCloud completely depends on your connection to the internet. Are you using Wi-Fi or Cellular Data? If you use Wi-Fi and you connect to another Wi-Fi network, do you continue to experience an issue?

We have a few articles that can help out with any data issues that may be experiencing this issue. You can check them out here:

We hope this information helps you out.

Kind regards!

Backing up is no problem again I get an email with attachments. I save the attachments to file on my phone. This drops them into iCloud fold say downloads.

the file called status report.PDF is waiting to upload to the cloud because it has an upward arrow.

if I go to my Mac open iCloud go to the download folder this file status report.PDF is not in the folder.

i go to my phone it still shows it is waiting to upload to the cloud. I have waited upwards of 24 hours before it’s in the cloud.

The biggest problem is trying to work on my iPhone with this file waiting to upload to the cloud. If I need this file to upload to a web page when I go to that web page to upload the file click on the chose file button go to iCloud/downloads it is not there because it’s waiting to upload to iCloud even though the file is on the iPhone.

The separate apps only look at what’s in the cloud so if the files app is waiting to upload. Safari will not see it until it’s uploaded to iCloud. Like I said I have had to wait up to 24 hours before the file shows up in the cloud for safari can work with it.

I like to do work on my iPhone or iPad but this lag in uploading files to the cloud is driving me crazing. I end up having to stop everything get home fire up my Mac try to use the file in iCloud but it still not there so I have to open email and save the file again locally to my Mac and the have safari uploaded it to its final destination.

I don’t know what or why there is a lag sending files to the cloud on the iPhone. The file was only 30kb. I tried a backup and the iPhone did a back immediately but I went to the files app and that file was still in waiting mode to upload. So it’s not internet connection. It’s something between the fie app and iCloud.

I hope this explains what is going on better. But again this makes using the iPhone/iPad fully as my Mac replacement impossible.

I am hoping there is a fix that I can do on my side to move thing along faster on uploading files to iClouds cloud.

thanks.

I am using WiFi at home.

the iPhone takes upwards of a day to sync files to the cloud even though a iCloud backup takes a few minutes if that.

my iMac connected to the same WiFi does it too when uploading to iCloud. Attached is a screen shot from my Mac show and iCloud up and I have waited several hours now for this to complete.

this is happening on my iPhone. It’s faster to send files via email cause I can get the file from my Mac to iPhone in literally seconds cause I don’t have hours to wait if I send files via iCloud.

this has nothing to do with WiFi. I have a 300 gigabyte per secon connection so that leave something blockage on the iCloud side that takes files forever to reach the iCloud servers.

I cloud is useless for work when I can move files with emails faster. iCloud is like snail mail in comparison.
