Hello dfpost,

We understand that you're looking into options for extending AppleCare+ if purchased. The ability to do so depends on location, and you did find the applicable article:

Extend your AppleCare+ coverage

In order to extend the coverage, it needs to be an official AppleCare+ plan and one where the coverage isn't provided through a third-party insurance.

I read the article, but I still have a question about this. T-Mobile/Sprint offers insurance for $15.00/mo that includes Apple Care+ as part of the package. I told them no, I'd rather get the coverage through Apple for my phone, however, if I had opted to use their plan, and it was explicitly stated that it includes Apple Care+, would that coverage have been able to be extended when the initial subscription with the carrier ran out? That is, could I have asked Apple to continue the Apple Care+ coverage? I'm curious because my father had the coverage through Sprint/T-Mobile, but when we switched carriers, he no longer had insurance on his phone. Would Apple have continued it? The article doesn't seem to cover that particular situation...
