Caller ID on iPhone 12 does not match actual call

Is anyone having similar issues. I have only had the phone for a month or so, and recently realized that the caller ID was not matching the area code. When I look at the "calls received" tab, the location is identified correctly. I went to the carrier store for a fix, and they couldn't help.

All incoming calls display same CID # and location For the last month, every incoming call I receive on my iPhone 8 shows the same phone number/location (Wisconsin) on caller ID. My recent calls never show the number though. This makes it appear every incoming call is spam; I answer only if I’m expecting a call. I’ve tried rebooting multiple times and the problem never improved and certainly didn’t resolve. And yes, I know it’s an older model device but it worked just fine until now. The Apple store and my carrier were equally unhelpful as both pointed the finger at the other. I don’t care who’s at fault; I just want it fixed so don’t have to play a cell phone version Russian roulette.

Caller ID function no longer exists Settings>Phone>Show my Caller ID This function DOES NOT EXIST on my brand new iphone 12 pro max currently. It existed on my iphone SE. It existed on my iphone 6plus It existed on my iphone 12 pro max up until it last updated and now it doesn't. Same carrier in all instances (Verizon). Any ideas?

NO CALLER ID (Incoming Calls) I saw a video on social media about iPhone in which there were 4 codes following 1) *#06# for IMEI no. 2) *#31# for Hide identity for all calls. 3) #31# for Hide Identity for one call. 4) *43# for Get notified while on Hold and #43# to OFF this. So I tried all four of these just for fun but now if anyone one is calling me shows NO CALLER ID. I can't even call back on NO CALLER ID as well. I watched so many videos on YouTube to fix it. Also called my SIM card customer service. Reset all the settings too. But not able to FIX this problem which is with INCOMING CALLS ONLY. Please help me out if anyone can. Thanks

The number displayed is sent by the carrier of the originating call. And phone numbers no longer identify location; it’s just a 10 digit number, not an area code+exchange+4 digits anymore. Thus, my daughter on the West Coast has an East Coast “area code” because that was where her mobile number was originally assigned.
