I am not able to pair my new Apple Watch series 3 with my iPhone 11

I am facing issue that some error occurred while checking for update and you are not connected to the internet

Watch won’t pair with phone I have a series 3 Apple Watch that I have reset and I am trying to pair with my iPhone 11. Every time I try and pair the watch it says I need to update the software and then I get this error. I’m aways connected to the internet and the watch is on charge. I’ve tried multiple times and continue to get this error. How do I fix this? Thanks.

My iphone 11 is not pairing with my apple watch series 1, I did reset to my apple watch and now I can not pair the message “unable to check for update, checking for an update failed because you are not connected to internet”
