Samsung Portable SSD 1TB no longer connecting after 11.5.2 update

So, I got the Big Sur update (11.5.2) and the Samsung 1TB Portable SSD (Model MU-PS1TB0B) won't connect any more. I have the latest Samsung Portable SSD software installed and the error message is:

"Disconnected. No Samsung Portable SSD is Connected".

The samsung portable SSD software I am using is 1.6.8.

Anyone able to fix this?

Would strongly suggest removing, the often times buggy, Samsung Software as per the Developers Instructions.

Apples' Big Sur is very capable of managing external drives without the inferences from Third Party Software.

Well, as long as things are working for you now. I wasted a lot of time repairing the drive and it's two partitions using Disk Utility to no avail.

The sudo command in Terminal didn't seem to have any effect and rather than boot into Recovery and mess with System Security, as recommended by Samsung, I've taken P. Phillips' advice and simply removed all traces of Samsung's software.

I already had the partition I use for Time Machine backup encrypted by Mac OS, so I can't see any use for "SamsungPortableSSD.app".

I like to keep my Mac to a minimum of additional software, I just regret not knowing that "SamsungPortableSSD.app" wasn't necessary when I bought the drive.

Thanks again to P. Phillips!
