Extreme screen dimming

I have extreme light sensitivity. On an iPhone I can use settings>accessibility>display and text size>Reduce white point [set to 100%] to reduce screen brightness to about 20% of the minimum possible with the brightness slider. Is there a similar option on MacBooks?

Thanks

Thanks. I should have explained that I currently use a windows laptop and am thinking of moving to a Macbook so can't try this for myself - hoping to find an answer here so I can decide if a Macbook is right for me.

All the Macs, including Macbook Pros, Macbook Airs, etc. have a Display System preferences pane and there is a slider you can move to reduce or increase screen brightness, right on down to a display that is virtually totally dark. There is also a setting to "automatically" adjust screen brightness based on ambient lighting, you can turn that off so the display follows your instructions only.

If you can get to an Apple Store or Best Buy or other similar store you can see this yourself on a display model.
