Apple TV HD Audio Issues/Distortion

I am pulling my hair out trying to solve this issue, so ANY help is appreciated.

A few months back, I noticed that certain frequencies would cause the sound on my tv to buzz/distort - almost like whatever frequency that sound was hitting was maxing out the sound levels. This would happen even when the volume was as low as 20. It would cause the sound to buzz, and make watching even comedy shows that don't have a lot of action or loud noises to be endlessly frustrating to watch. However, this ONLY happens while streaming via my Apple TV. When watching live TV, no issues, or when watching through the apps via my smart tv, no issues. Similarly, no issues when watching a DVD (also hooked up via HDMI cable). It's JUST the apple TV.

I purchased a NEW apple TV, hoping it was something wrong with the old device. The problem persists.

I purchased a new HDMI cord, hoping maybe that was the issue. The problem persists.

There is clearly something going on with the sound settings via the TV/Apple TV, and I have NO idea how to solve it. Please help.
