Microphone being accessed by third party without access granted

Is there a way to determine what was accessing the microphone? No apps have access to the microphone in settings, Siri is disabled also. I looked at my phone at dinner and the orange light was on. Shortly after I verbally acknowledged the light was on it turned off. Is there a debug mode or something you can use to determine who/what was accessing my phones microphone??
