I bought a mac and got "free" AirPods - can I return them?

Hi:

I just bought a mac under the educational program, and got "free" AirPods. On the order, it shows the AirPods were NOT free but were $159, and then they gave me a $159 discount on the mac.

Ive read other threads about not being able to return free AirPods, but per my order these were not free, but cost $159. Can I return them and just keep the discounted (by $159) mac?
