RED EXCLAMATION MARK

I am slowly being driven crazy by the red exclamation mark next to the text message (iMessage) icon on my iPad. An exclamation mark is not, however, showing on my iPhone! I found one message that had not been delivered and I deleted it. I have checked my other messages and can find nothing else. I am correctly signed on to receive messages. I have tried turning my iPad off and on again. Is there anyway to get rid of this exclamation mark without having to find the offending message? Please help me as I can find nothing else that could be causing this!

Hi techchallenged21,

We understand the Messages app on your iPad is showing a badge with an exclamation mark in it that you'd like to remove. At this time, the only way to remove this badge is by locating the message that didn't send properly, or by disabling this feature. If you'd like to disable it altogether, you can do so from Settings > Notifications > Messages > disable Badges.

In addition, if you'd like to leave any feedback about this directly to Apple, you may do so via Product Feedback.

Cheers.
