I have the same problem. This problem is quite common and a lot of information can be found about it. At first, I only had marks on a pencil, but then scratches appeared on the iPad, and over time the situation only gets worse. Apple said that they will not replace the devices as it is "cosmetic damage". (But it was in Russia, I think you have a better chance of getting a replacement device if you live, for example, in the USA.)
