Changing phone number on iPad Pro

Let’s take a look at your iPad Pro and see if we can lend a hand getting your phone number to appear correctly. We understand the importance of having this information correct.

Is the phone number you had on your iPad Pro still active? Try the steps found in “Turn your phone number on or off for your iPad or iPod touch” found in Add or remove your phone number in Messages or FaceTime. 1. The iPad only uses any phone number it may have (if it's a cellular iPad), for billing purposes for its cellular data service (internet access when away from Wi-Fi). On its own the iPad cannot make cellular calls or send SMS message. Only place FaceTime calls and send iMessages to other Apple devices over the internet.
2. The number assigned to it by the cellular service provider cannot be used to call or message the iPad.
3. For the iPad to send SMS messages and make cellular calls it can only do so when paired to an iPhone.
4. Where is it listing the number for calls and messages as the iPhone number? If you added the phone number to the Apple ID, then it's the Apple ID that holds the number, not the iPad itself. The only way to fix this would be to log out of the Apple ID from the iPad. But I suspect this is not what you want to do.
