MacBook Pro end of live after 3-4 years?

Bought a MacBook Pro 4 yeares ago. After one year the motherboard was broken which was replaced within the guarantee. Now after 3 years the motherboard is borken again. Brougt it to the Apple Store in Amsterdam but they say that it's normal that a MacBook Pro is end of live after 3-4 years? They wont give a discount on replacing the motherboard or when buying a new one. Unbelievable that such an expensive MacBook has a livetime of 3-4 years.

Apple provides hardware support for their computers for at least five years after the last model is sold (usually within one year of release). Plus once a Mac becomes "Vintage" (typically after five years) it can still be repair for another two years as long as the necessary parts are still available. Here is an Apple article with these details:

Obtaining service for your Apple product after an expired warranty - Apple Support

Now whether it is economical to repair the laptop is another thing which only you can decide.
