Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock Plus keeps restarting my iMac
Hi there,
I have an iMac Retina 5K 27inch 2020, with 3.6 GHz 10-Core Intel Core i9. I'm using a powered Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock Plus with it to provide extra Thunderbolt 3 ports for external hard drives. The dock works ok generally but for 2 problems:
- A sporadic problem whereby my iMac restarts itself instead of shutting down. A second attempt to shutdown works but the next time I start up my iMac I get an alert saying that the iMac "shut down because of a problem". It's fairly regular - 2-3 times a week - but not every time and no pattern that I can see. I suspect it is related to the powered dock in some way as there is no problem when the dock isn't used. I'm pasting the crash report I get each time below.
2: This is more of a question for Belkin, but I'm mentioning in case relevant. The dock seems to be quite susceptible to movement and easily ejects two external hard drives if moved. I've tried different cables. The restarting issue happens without any movement though, so these issue are not explicitly connected.
Has anyone come across an issue like this before / any ideas? Belkin support isn't very good - I'm struggling to get anywhere with them so wondered if it was a Mac issue or if anyone had experienced something similar?
Thank you!
Thom
