Siri search for photos

I had this problem searching faces, etc. in my photos using Siri for some time. I opened an issue with Apple a few days ago and sent traces, etc. Response from engineering a few minutes ago (10/9/21 1:30pm Pacific): "This functionality (searching your photos using Siri) was removed September 20". So Siri photo search is no more! You must search manually in the Photos app, I wonder what disabled people are going to do now.

Thanks for the link but this is slightly behind the curve. Siri used to show photos on your phone when asked for a particular date but now just shows images from the web. This is really unhelpful and the old feature should be restored.

I am having the same issue.

I used to get proper results from "hey siri, search photos" but now its just populating images from the web. Have you had any luck?

It's ridiculous!! Why does Apple keep removing functionality all the time ??

Just to put them back in future iPhones and introduce them as new features.

Like the HDMI port in MacBooks.
