Device locked Unlock IPhone to start using. Is what’s on my watch.

My watch is saying it’s locked and I need to unlock IPhone My phone is unlocked I think it’s come unpaired with my phone

Apple Watch 7 locked with iPhone unlocked Bought the watch yesterday, followed the steps but was never asked to set up a passcode. Was working ok. The battery died and after recharging it got a message: device locked Unlock iPhone to start using Apple Watch. The problem is that my phone is unlocked :( . Restarted the watch but that didn’t help.
