i am trying to migrate old Mac high Sierra to new iMac Catalina, my keyboard on my old Mac has stopped working and I have trouble shooted just about every tip out there and nothing.
I need to be able to type in my password to start the migration. The mouse works.
I have a second Apple keyboard but the Mac won’t recognize it. And yes I’ve checked the batteries. Thank you
Even a cheap PC KB will work, Win key=Mac CMD key, alt key = Mac Option key...

If you have a Time Machine backup on the old one you can move that over to the new one & Migrate.
Is the time machine something that had to be set up in advance? And I didn’t think there was a wired keyboard compatible for Mac? I guess any wired keyboard may work? Need to find one. Thank you for your help.
