I saw the add and deleted that browser then exited out of my safari app. Does that mean I didn't interact with it?

It is nearly impossible to hack an iPhone unless it is Jailbroken. The pop up notification that you saw was fake. Cancel out of the notification and close out the website that you may have been visiting.

So long as you didn't click on a link and volunteer any information, you're fine.
It, and all such messages are scams presented by criminals. Do not interact with the message or the sender. Do not download anything based on a popup message.

Clear your browsing history (Settings > Safari, clear history and website data)
Ignore the message; don't click on links.
You have not been hacked. It's just a scam.
If you didn’t click on the website, and download any app, you should be fine.

Stay alert ……. You will see other such bogus messages. You just need to remember that the messages are bogus.
