WhatsApp changes

Hi, hope somebody can help :)

So apparently as at 1 November 2021, WhatsApp will no longer be supporting iPhone SE, 6s and 6s+, and you must have at least iOS 10 or newer.

I have an iPhone 6s+ in excellent condition and run iOS 14.7.1, so I don't really want to buy a new phone.

So I emailed WhatsApp to ask if I had to buy a new phone, and didn't really get an answer to my question (see below). Does anybody have an answer for me?
