Do you have to use a managed AppleID, or can we use Apple Business Manager initially as an inventory/asset tracking tool, while allowing our users to sign in and use devices with their personal apple ID?
Managed Apple IDs are not required for users. This is up to each individual organization. Admins must use a managed Apple ID that is not federated.
