deleting iMessage on one device but not all

I'm giving my MacBook to someone else. How do I get all of my iMessages off or deleted and not delete them on my other laptop/iMac & phone?

Hi workdavework,

It looks like you came over from the article How to delete messages in iCloud, which is a great place to start for what you're trying to do. To be sure we're on the same page, do you currently use Messages in iCloud? You can check by opening Messages, then going to Messages > Preferences > iMessage. If so, any deletions will delete from all synced devices. You can simply sign out of your account to stop them from syncing to this device. You can sign out in the same location.

Check out some other recommendations provided in this article on what to do before giving away your Mac: What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your Mac

Hope that helps!
