find my worked but only for a few seconds

My iphone was lost and I turned on find my and it was not showing on the map. Then it popped up for only a few seconds about ten miles away. How do I find that location again?

Sorry but no, FindMy doesn’t “track” or maintain a “track history.” It just displays “snapshots” when queried or “last known position” for 24 Hrs.

If you’ve not done so already, you should mark your device as lost and add a recovery message. (You might be fortunate)

You should also assume a theft and be VERY wary of any messages purporting to be from Apple and requesting your credentials to “confirm your identity”.

This is a too-often perpetrated scam on victims of phone theft.

Yes, of course. I feel that is why it showed as being on (colorful face of phone) then it went black. But, is showed the last position of the device as being 10 miles away in a very specific area. My question is: Is there anyway the find my app can display the history including the place I saw on the map in Find My. If it shows the history of where its been as it did on the screen and still does as its last position I may be able to track it down. If it were my work phone no problem we have tracking chips on all devices including vehicles (Justice Dept.)but this is my personal phone. thanks for your help.
