Need help

I bought a iPhone 12 unlocked and I’ve been using it with at&t but when my dad left the country and tried putting a out of country SIM card in it and it wouldn’t work

Only AT&T can unlock that device, if you're eligible.

Best Buy does NOT sell unlocked phones.

The phones they sell will lock to the first US carrier used.

You will have to contact AT&T and request an unlock.

Where did you buy it?

If you purchased it from a retailer other than Apple (e.g. Best Buy, Target, Walmart, etc.) then it is NOT unlocked.

i bought it from Best Buy and it’s supposed to be unlocked with any carrier
