Cannot shut Firefox down - Force Quit doesn't work

Currently running OS X 10.15.7 and recently have been unable to shut my browser, Firefox, down. Force quit won't kill it and I cannot delete it from applications. I looked at this problem in the community but those issues are very old - anyone have any issues and solutions for this problem?

Try restarting in Safe Mode (Use Safe Mode to isolate issues with your Mac) and dragging Firefox into the Trash from the Applications folder. Empty the Trash, then restart normally and if you want to continue using the FF, then re-download.

By the way, do you have any third party antivirus, cleaning or ANY other third party "maintenance" apps installed?
