Hi there RavenDesign,
Thanks for joining us in Apple Support Communities! We understand the cursor for your Magic Keyboard disappears from the screen, and only returns after restarting your iPad. We're glad you're here, and we can provide some guidance.
"The pointer disappears after a few seconds of inactivity. To make it appear again, just move the mouse or touch the trackpad." With that said, it's normal for the cursor to disappear after a few seconds of not touching the screen of your iPad. Have a look at the 'Navigate your iPad' section of this link to learn more:
Use a Bluetooth mouse or trackpad with your iPad
Keeping that information in mind, if the cursor doesn't reappear after you begin using your iPad again, let's dig a little deeper to get to the bottom of this. Which iPadOS version is listed in Settings > General > About? Also, what's selected in Settings > General > Trackpad? Learn more here:
Set up and use Magic Keyboard for iPad
Change trackpad settings on iPad
Let us know what you find, and we'll take a closer look from there.
Cheers.
