Home automation triggers - accessory not listed

I want to create a home automation that triggers when an accessory (that is displayed in my home accessories) turns on. Specifically, it’s my automated sprinkler controller.

However the device isn’t listed as an option or the trigger when building the automation, despite being controlled through my Home app.

Am I missing something? Or are home automations currently limited to a subset of accessory types?
