Wifi private address causing problems

As most (or some) of you know, ever since ios 14 was created, a new feature called a private wifi address was also created with it. It's a feature that generates a random, new wifi address for your device so that wifi networks you join can't track you. That hasn't been a problem until the other day when I set a limit for myself on my wifi so that I can actually go to bed (because I need to stop being so addicted).

I tried asking snapchat support about this, but I couldn't find any useful information, so here I am. Every website and app works except snapchat. And even on snapchat, I can send chats, but not snaps. I can't watch stories either. People's bitmojis load, and so do their locations. I can search for things just fine. I get notifications when people send me snaps, but they don't even load when I press "tap to load." Only every once in a while does it work normally again, but that only lasts for about 5 minutes each time. I was thinking that I had blocked the website, but I did not when I checked my wifi control app. And if I did block it, that wouldn't make sense either because then the entire app wouldn't work, not just the snaps loading.

So, I went to explore the wifi features, and I noticed the private address was on, so I turned it off. Guess what? It works normally ALL THE TIME now, and I have no idea why. I'm glad that the app works again, but what is it about the private address that caused it not to work? Why did all the other apps and websites work fine, but not snapchat? I know it's photo and video, but Tiktok is also photo and video, and it worked just fine either way! I use snapchat the most for practically all my communication, so I need it to work all the time on wifi. And I would rather have a private wifi address. I don't want my ISP or anyone to be looking at what I'm doing.
