Color on Apple TV 4K seems muted compared to same channel on Directv. When steaming using YouTube tv Michigan football the yellow on the helmet is a dull yellow. That is with doing the color balance with the phone. When switching to Directv it is crisp yellow. Trying figure out why the color difference with Apple TV. Trying to break away from cable but this color situation is driving me crazy.

I don’t think the UN65JS850DFXZA is HDR capable. Possibly it supports 10-bit “Deep Color” (not a feature that Apple TV can use), which might be mistaken by the Apple TV for HDR10 (also 10-bit) support availability. Just set Apple TV to provide content in SDR instead.

I would advise to set the Apple TV to SDR, and activate Match Dynamic Range, so that (only) HDR gets displayed in HDR, if your TV handles that.
Verify your HDR settings. There is probably a mismatch between devices.

So I did change to SDR and that provided a much better picture thank you so much!! Now going to SDR from HDR am I losing something there. And is the flip to SDR necessary since the 4K tv is probably 5 years old?
