Video quality when downloading from iCloud vs directly from USB to PC

So the title pretty much describes my issue. I have three ways of copying my videos from my iPhone 12 Pro running iOS 14.2.

Go to iCloud in my browser on the PC with Windows 10 and download the videos in original quality
Plug my iPhone to USB and copy the video
Use the Save to files option in the menu and save it on a network drive

The issue:

The colours on the videos downloaded from iCloud or saved to the network drive appear dull.

The videos obtained from USB are the correct, more saturated colour but they are not in full resolution. I suspect the resolution is related to the limited free space on the iPhone at the moment.

So how can I obtain my videos with the correct colours and in 4k? I could provide an example if needed.

We’d like to gather additional details that may help us be in a better position to assist you.

Are you getting the video as "Unmodified Original" download or "Most Compatible" download? You get these options when you click the menu for the download icon on the iCloud page.

Have you had the cache to see if managing your storage helps?

In the meantime, we recommend updating your iPhone.

While it isn't inherently assured that an update will resolve the issue, updating to the latest version of iOS for your device can help isolate potential software issues.

Kindly secure a backup and update.

Apparently, it depends on what video player I use. The full-sized MOV files look better in the Windows Movies & TV player than in VLC or Windows Media Player. They are still slightly different from the downscaled MP4`s but the colours are actually not pale and tinted to green.

This is what I found. The labels in black refer to the MOV.

So all four of them are different.

Well, the device is indeed very low on storage space but that is why I bought the iCloud 2 TB plan. I would have expected that I'm able to download back and forth my videos and photos completely unchanged. Otherwise what's the point of paying for it?
