While you should update your Catalina to apply the security update you need to know that you have little to worry about. You are highly unlikely to be attacked by the Pegasus software. This is James Bond 007 level stuff, expensive and difficult to use. The company that sells this software claims it only sells it to governments and law enforcement. The people who should worry about this are those who may be targets of government surveillance, like journalists, human rights activists, political dissidents, terrorists, etc. The ex-boyfriend, ex-girlfriend, angry neighbor, thug down the street, or, some teenager in their parent’s basement is not a customer for this software.


Update your Catalina but don’t worry about it. It’s a nothing burger for the average user.
